What is vector?

Vector images consist of anchor points and lines. When enlarging or reducing these files, the anchor points and lines remain intact. The shape and sharpness are therefore always preserved. This makes a vector ideal for use in advertising applications such as print work, lettering, engraving, and screen printing. An added advantage is that a vector file remains relatively small compared to a pixel file. It can therefore easily be sent by email. A vector file usually has one of the following extensions: EPS, PDF, SVG, or AI. Read more about what a vector file is or discover how vectorization works.
