What are pixels?

Pixel files consist of colored dots that together form an image. These pixels become visible when you zoom in far on an image. Enlarging these files therefore results in a blurry and blocky image. Most images on the internet and on your computer are pixel files. Photos are an example of this. A pixel file usually has one of the following extensions: JPG, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP, or PSD.
